Wikifactum OMBUDSPERSON’S Investigations
Wikifactum’s Truth in Justice Project is intended as a powerful platform for righting investigative, prosecutorial and judicial wrongs. So far, in August 2023, although cathartic, the project has proved arduous and time-consuming to launch for US convicted felon William Robert Whyte (Inmate ID #21514084). This therapeutic writing experience, though, gives weight to his criticism of the system. The text may seem to some like a back-alley lawyer, a know-it-all pontificating, but Whyte is attempting to articulate his journey as a foreigner, without any experience of the US justice system except his own case, and ultimately to share what he heard and saw happen to others, mostly US citizens who found them in a similar situation. After all, while Whyte’s case is the first on the site, it is just one of the thousands that Wikifactum wants to help in the future.
